Handmade Scrunchies using Harry Potter fabrics

HANDMADE SCRUNCHIES Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  Look what's back in fashion!  Not that scrunchies ever were out of fashion for me anyway....my hair is way passed my bum now so it's constantly wrap with scrunchies to keep me from strangling myself with my own hair, lol.  My 2 nieces turn 7 years old this month and next month and I wanted to make them some scrunchies for their birthday's.  Each of their hairdo's couldn't be more polar opposites, with one niece having blonde, shoulder length, Shirley Temple-like, corkscrew curls and the other has straight, brown/fair hair that goes way down her back.  But every wee girl loves scrunchies for their hair and if not in their hair, they love the wear them on their wrists as accessories. You can find any amount of tutorials on YouTube on how to make scrunchies, but they are a pretty easy make and I made a tonne of them in no time at all.  All you need is strips of fabric and elastic.  These would be such easy an

Handmade Quilt - Shadow Boxing from Jordan Fabrics

Handmade Quilt - Shadow Boxing from Jordan Fabrics Whatabout ye Folks, it's Lee here.  Firstly, Happy New Year for tomorrow.  Let's hope 2023 is a little kinder to us all.  Secondly, apologies for the photos.  This quilt was extremely difficult to photograph.  The simple reason is, I have a super tiny house.  So to be able to get the whole quilt in the frame, meant having to move WAYYYY back......and I just didn't have the room to do this in my teeny house.  I was practically sitting on the cooker for this 1st photo and my poor Scrubby was standing there with his arms up, holding this quilt and trying not to move whilst I took rapid fire photos, lol.  And the one I took on the bed....well, I would have needed to be outside my bedroom window to get it all in properly.  So, sorry.....I did the best I could in my tiny house, lol. This quilt is called Shadow Boxing and is a free pattern from Jordan Fabrics on YouTube .  I am over the moon with how the boxes pop from the qui

Another handmade travel bag/toiletries/make-up bag

Another handmade travel bag/toiletries/make-up bag Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I've made another travel/toiletries/make-up bag.  This time for my wee brother's Girlfriend, the beautiful little Rose.  I wanted to make a wee bag that had a pouch on the front and found this tutorial from Debbie Shore.  I used my own size of fabric but Debbie's tutorial helped me make it, lol. It's a very simple little zip pouch but I made it nice and tall so Rose could store her brush and cosmetics.  And as it's made from cotton, if it gets dirty it can be thrown into the wash. Plenty of room for all her bits and bobs.  I love the 2 fabrics I used.  They came in a wee pack of fat quarters that I bought on bay.  They compliment each other beautifully.  And the wee Roses reminded me of....well.....Rose...teehee I bought a wee button snap kit on Amazon.  It's a fantastic wee job.  Click HERE , if you want one yourself.  It was so inexpensive for everything you got in t

Handmade Buzz Lightyear backpack/rucksack

HANDEMADE BUZZ LIGHTYEAR BACKPACK - USING DEBBIE SHORE'S TUTORIAL Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I wanted to show you a little backpack I made for my 2 year old nephew, Alfie, who is Buzz Lightyear mad (LOOK TILLY....YOU WERE RIGHT, TEEHEE).  I made my other 2 nieces their own Harry Potter backpacks ( here & here ) and it was time for Alfie to get his own too.  He wanted Buzz Lightyear, so I purchased a few fat quarter bundles to make it (details of items below) again following the Debbie Shore backpack tutorial with a few Crafty Loops adjustments. As usual, we have the expanding side pockets that are perfect for water bottles/juice bottles etc The back straps are of course adjustable and will grow with Alfie.  I can't wait to see him rocking this to Nursery. I added a zip pocket to this backpack.  This isn't in Debbie's tutorial but she shows how to add zips in tonnes of her tutorials.  I thought it would be a handy addition as it's on the back of t

Another Handmade Harry Potter Backpack - Debbie Shore free pattern

Another Handmade Harry Potter Backpack - Debbie Shore free pattern What about ye folks, it's Lee here.  I know, I know......another backpack.  But these are so easy to make and I'm now getting requests from family for Christmas gifts and who am I to refuse.  As usual, its a Debbie Shore creation and her tutorial can be found HERE on YouTube. This one is definitely the best made one yet....isn't my little niece, Jessica, lucky to get one that is sort of half decently made, lol.  I'd like to think that I improved with this being my 3rd backpack I've made. This will be a Christmas present for little Miss this year.  Of course. she'll have it filled with lots of Harry Potter swag...she won't just be getting her old Aunties handmade rubbish, teehee. There's nothing much more to say about it really, as I explained it all in my previous 2 posts, here and again here . I will have a shopping list for all the products I used, down below to include the fixings et

Handmade Disney Aristocats Backpack - Debbie Shore free Pattern

Handmade Disney Aristocats Backpack - Debbie Shore free Pattern I think I'm hooked.  Making these Debbie Shore backpack s is so incredibly easy and super quick and can be made in any size you want.  I made this one for my sister (again....this time she is not giving this one to her beautiful wee daughter.....this one is all for her).  The Harry Potter one I made her mysteriously ended up on the back of my 5 year old niece, teehee.    I made this one a little bit bigger and because I made the first one, I sort of knew what I was doing this time.  So overall this one is just sewn better. I added the toggle clasp which was bought on Ebay I love the fabrics, they are so cute with the cats from Aristocats and the dogs from Lady and the Tramp.  Again, the webbing is from Ebay .  I prefer the cotton webbing as it's softer and very easy to sew through I added the wee extendable pockets on the side so my sister can add her water bottle or even mobile phone to it.  There is one on eac

Handmade Harry Potter backpack

Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I'm back with a real quick make and it is so super easy to make.  I followed a tutorial from Debbie Shore on YouTube and I modified it to work with what I had.  It was so super quick and easy to make and I highly recommend Debbie's tutorials.  I made this for my wee sister, although I have a feeling that her wee daughter might be claiming this one.  My sister has put in a request for another one for her, lol....so the next one will probably be Disney themed.  A little side view of the backpack, using a Harry Potter fat quarter bundle.  I bought it on Ebay The backpack has adjustable straps that can fit any size child or adult.  I bought the webbing  straps on Ebay and can be purchased here Debbie used a magnetic clasp on her tutorial, but I went with this toggle instead as I felt it would be a bit more secure.  I bought the toggle clasp on Ebay , if you want to buy your own.  When I make the next one, I'll sew the toggle into the bac
