2nd Mia Everyday wallet from Bagstock Designs

2nd Mia Everyday wallet from Bagstock Designs Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  Do not adjust your sets.....this is in fact another Mia Everyday wallet , but slightly different and without the mistakes of the first one  that I made, teehee.  I know I use this Burberry style fabric a lot but I think it is so classy and can go with anything.   This one was definitely made better than the first one.  This time, I decided to give the wallet a bit more protection, as it is just fabric.  So I coated the burberry style fabric with Odicoat which is a water resistant gel that you coat over the fabric.  You brush on 1 layer and spread it with an old store card to evenly distribute the product all over the fabric.  You then let it dry completely before adding another even layer.  It gives the fabric a protective coating which I think is perfect when you want to make a wallet out of fabrics like cotton or viscose.  A big warning though, this stuff STINKS to the high heavens when you are usi

Mia Everyday Wallet from Bagstock Designs

Mia Everydsy Wallet from Bagstock Designs Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  Back with another handmade project.  This time, I tried my hand at the Mia Wallet from Bagstock Designs.  I have never tried one of their patterns before but boy oh boy are the instructions absolutely fantastic.  I am sure I have mentioned it before, but I am a massive visual learner.  So, if I can see something being done, I can usually pick it up pretty quickly.  So, I did watch a video from Jess over at OklaRoots YouTube channel to get my bearings with this pattern.  But to be honest, the pattern is written so well with great photos to guide you, that I managed to make this pattern without having to refer back to each video step.  However, if you do want to use the video step by step, Jess would be one of my favourite bag makers on YouTube.  She does an incredible job at guiding you through every step of the process. Anywhoodles, here's my Mia wallet.  This was my first time making this pattern so

Handmade Mobile Phone Crossbody Disney bag - Mickey Mouse

Handmade Mobile Phone Crossbody Disney bag Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  My niece, sister and her partner are heading away to Disneyland Paris.  And I wanted to make the 2 wee ladies something that they could carry their phones in and a few bits and pieces but that wouldn't be cumbersome for them to carry around with them.  So, I made these cute wee crossbody bags.  I followed a pattern and tutorial from Owl be Sewing on YouTube.  This is such a great wee pattern and could be used for any occasion but is perfect for trips away or festivals, as it's basically a purse and mobile phone holder in one.  And it is such an incredibly fast make and I made them using Disney fat Quarter bundles that I had so they are incredibly economical on fabric.  You could easily make these bags using scrap fabric.  Plus, the bonus is that it is a completely free pattern too.  Gina does such a fabulous job, walking you through the pattern with a step by step tutorial on her channel.  I hi

Handmade Wallet - NCW style wallet

Handmade Wallet - NCW style wallet Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I have watched so many YouTube videos lately of bag making and wallet making, that I am having dreams in my sleep about them.  I watched a tonne of videos on the NCW or, the Necessary Clutch Wallet that everyone and their Grandmother has made, so I thought that I should give it a go too.  The NCW is Designed by Janelle MacKay from Emmaline bags .  There have been many different iterations of this wallet made by different YouTubers, and I loved the style that Sian from Kittenish Behaviour did with the 2 zipper pockets, rather than just the 1.  She also shows how to make the wallet using directional prints, which thoroughly interested me.  Full credit to Sian for her incredibly detailed tutorials on this wallet.  I couldn't have made it without her videos.  An honourable mention also goes to Kassiah, from SiahSwag on YouTube too.  Her video is terrific as well.  And all her bag tutorials are phenomenal.  S
