Handmade Quilt - Shadow Boxing from Jordan Fabrics

Handmade Quilt - Shadow Boxing from Jordan Fabrics Whatabout ye Folks, it's Lee here.  Firstly, Happy New Year for tomorrow.  Let's hope 2023 is a little kinder to us all.  Secondly, apologies for the photos.  This quilt was extremely difficult to photograph.  The simple reason is, I have a super tiny house.  So to be able to get the whole quilt in the frame, meant having to move WAYYYY back......and I just didn't have the room to do this in my teeny house.  I was practically sitting on the cooker for this 1st photo and my poor Scrubby was standing there with his arms up, holding this quilt and trying not to move whilst I took rapid fire photos, lol.  And the one I took on the bed....well, I would have needed to be outside my bedroom window to get it all in properly.  So, sorry.....I did the best I could in my tiny house, lol. This quilt is called Shadow Boxing and is a free pattern from Jordan Fabrics on YouTube .  I am over the moo...

Another handmade travel bag/toiletries/make-up bag

Another handmade travel bag/toiletries/make-up bag Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I've made another travel/toiletries/make-up bag.  This time for my wee brother's Girlfriend, the beautiful little Rose.  I wanted to make a wee bag that had a pouch on the front and found this tutorial from Debbie Shore.  I used my own size of fabric but Debbie's tutorial helped me make it, lol. It's a very simple little zip pouch but I made it nice and tall so Rose could store her brush and cosmetics.  And as it's made from cotton, if it gets dirty it can be thrown into the wash. Plenty of room for all her bits and bobs.  I love the 2 fabrics I used.  They came in a wee pack of fat quarters that I bought on bay.  They compliment each other beautifully.  And the wee Roses reminded me of....well.....Rose...teehee I bought a wee button snap kit on Amazon.  It's a fantastic wee job.  Click HERE , if you want one yourself.  It was so ine...

Handmade travel bag, toiletries bag or pencil case

Handmade travel bag, toiletries bag or pencil case Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I wanted to share this little, or kinda largish travel bag or possibly a very large pencil case with you.  You might recognise the fabric, from this post  where I shared an apron I made for my wee brother for Christmas using vintage fabric from Moygashel .  I won't go into all the details again, but my wee brother is in his 3rd year at Queen's University. Belfast studying Aerospace Engineering.  He got his pilots licence when he was just 19 years old and I thought this fabric was perfect to make him a few gifts with.  This fabric commemorates the maiden flight of Concorde in 1969, so the fabric is old.....even much older than me, teehee.   But as I had a tiny piece left, I didn't want to waste it.  So I decided to make him a little travel bag that would be handy for toiletries.  Or, as he is almost a fully fledged Aerospace Engineer, I am sure he...

Altered laundry basket

Altered laundry basket  This past Christmas, my wee Mamma wanted a new laundry basket.  She recently did a few bits and pieces in her bedroom and wanted something to go with her duck egg blue colour scheme and if I could find some way to fit butterflies into the theme too, that would be great.  Well, I searched and I searched and could not find anything that would go with that theme, at all.  So, I decided to jimmy rig and alter one myself, lol....not sure if that made it any better mind you, teehee. I bought this one on Amazon ( click link, if you want one, lol) as it had a removable fabric liner that I could add to. I then purchased this stunning Laura Ashley curtain fabric on Ebay.  It was just a 1/2 metre remnant but it was a perfect amount for what I needed.  Not only was it duck egg blue, but it had butterflies on it! On a piece of the scrap fabric left over, I decided to sew around one of the butterflies to make this little padded dangle butterfly t...

3 Handmade Rag dolls - A free PayItForward Pattern

3 Rag dolls - A free PayItForward Pattern So, I know I said I was giving these wee kitties to my nieces and nephew, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the "Safety" eyes and noses on them.  Now, they probably would have been fine for the 2 girls as they are almost 6, but my wee nephew is only 1 and if I have an ounce of doubt about the safety of anything I make, I will not give it as a gift.  Just a note though.....the issues I had with the kitties was not down to the design of the dolls....it was my own issue with the safety eyes and noses....Lisa's designs and tutorials are perfect in every way...I just wanted to make that very clear, lol I decided to go with a different design of Lisa Pay's ( PayItForward on YT) , her wee Ragdoll design.  It is so incredible and so easy to make....much less hand sewing, teehee. I know this is probably a bit gruesome with me holding just the head in my hand, but I want you to see their cute wee faces.  The wee girls have br...

Handmade Paw Patrol Baby Bag/DIY Baby Changing Bag

Handmade Paw Patrol Baby Bag/DIY Baby Changing Bag One of my brother's recently asked me if I wouldn't mind making him a changing bag, come "chuck everything a toddler might need" bag.  And of course, I said yes.  His requests consisted of Paw Patrol or something Disney, big enough to carry nappies, cloths, toys, bottles, juice etc., and something he could easily throw over his shoulder to carry as he'd have his hands full most of the time.  So this is what I came up with. As I'm sure you have gathered by now, from my many bags and backpacks I've shared of late (click here , 2 , 3 ,  4 & 5 ), I am a big fan of Debbie Shore's designs and her incredible YouTube channel sharing how to make her designs.  Well, I have adapted her Large Tote Bag to suit the needs of my Brother and his ever growing bambino.   So this bag is just under twice as big as Debbie's original stated size.  The handles are a bit longer and there is also an adjustable shoul...
