Handmade Quilt - Shadow Boxing from Jordan Fabrics

Handmade Quilt - Shadow Boxing from Jordan Fabrics
Whatabout ye Folks, it's Lee here.  Firstly, Happy New Year for tomorrow.  Let's hope 2023 is a little kinder to us all.  Secondly, apologies for the photos.  This quilt was extremely difficult to photograph.  The simple reason is, I have a super tiny house.  So to be able to get the whole quilt in the frame, meant having to move WAYYYY back......and I just didn't have the room to do this in my teeny house.  I was practically sitting on the cooker for this 1st photo and my poor Scrubby was standing there with his arms up, holding this quilt and trying not to move whilst I took rapid fire photos, lol.  And the one I took on the bed....well, I would have needed to be outside my bedroom window to get it all in properly.  So, sorry.....I did the best I could in my tiny house, lol.
This quilt is called Shadow Boxing and is a free pattern from Jordan Fabrics on YouTube.  I am over the moon with how the boxes pop from the quilt.  It's such an awesome illusion.  As always, Donna's instructions and videos are incredibly detailed and hold your hand every step of the way to make this optical illusion quilt.  I'm gutted that I couldn't get the whole quilt in frame perfectly, but C'est La Vie.
I used various fabrics from fat quarter bundles that I purchased from various sellers on Ebay.  They were perfect for this project as I was able to get 2 full squares out of each fat quarter with only a tiny piece left over.
I used a selection of fat quarter fabrics from the Marvel Heroes and Harry Potter range.  Such lovely fabrics to use.  And then the "shadow" part of the quilt is just plain 100% black cotton.  This quilt was a Christmas present for my wee 2 year old nephew, Alfie.  I'm tasking myself with giving each of the wee ones a quilt each.  So, just one niece to go, lol.  And then my next victims will be my siblings, although I have made T hers already and Corey got his for his 21st.  So, only 2 siblings left, lol.
And in true, Auntie Lee fashion....or should I say, "Auntie Wee" as this is my proper title from my nephew and nieces, lol....I made a dodgy hand sewn label to add in a corner, hidden on the back of the quilt.  It looks massive here but it's just the photo, teehee.

And that's it from me for now folks.  See you in the next one.
