It's all about the bee's knees - DIY Handmade Large Tote

It's all about the bee's knees - DIY Handmade Large Tote Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  So I made another one of Debbie Shore's large tote bags...well, it has been a wee while since I last made one, lol. I've made so many now that I could probably sew them in my sleep, teehee.  Here's the link to the bag in case you want to have a go...  Debbie's Large Tote Bag . As usual, I made a few modifications which I'll share below.  I think this is the first one I've made where I didn't make many of my wee "Lee mistakes" as my wee Mamma affectionately calls them, lol.  This one is going to my Auntie Fiona, or Fifi as she's affectionately known.  She loves bees and this fabric was a dream to work with.  No issues at all. I wasn't sure which fabric Auntie Fifi would prefer as the main body so my Wee Mamma let me know that the Honey Yellow was the way to go.  The bag has a really good sized zip pocket on the outside. And both sides of...

Handmade Paw Patrol Baby Bag/DIY Baby Changing Bag

Handmade Paw Patrol Baby Bag/DIY Baby Changing Bag One of my brother's recently asked me if I wouldn't mind making him a changing bag, come "chuck everything a toddler might need" bag.  And of course, I said yes.  His requests consisted of Paw Patrol or something Disney, big enough to carry nappies, cloths, toys, bottles, juice etc., and something he could easily throw over his shoulder to carry as he'd have his hands full most of the time.  So this is what I came up with. As I'm sure you have gathered by now, from my many bags and backpacks I've shared of late (click here , 2 , 3 ,  4 & 5 ), I am a big fan of Debbie Shore's designs and her incredible YouTube channel sharing how to make her designs.  Well, I have adapted her Large Tote Bag to suit the needs of my Brother and his ever growing bambino.   So this bag is just under twice as big as Debbie's original stated size.  The handles are a bit longer and there is also an adjustable shoul...

Handmade Large Tote Bag - Debbie Shore free pattern

Handmade Large Tote Bag - Debbie Shore free pattern What about ye folks, it's Lee here.  Ok, so it's not a backpack....but it is another Debbie Shore bag, teehee.  This one is her large tote bag that she shared the tutorial for on YouTube.  By the way, do you know I have a YouTube Channel ?  I haven't uploaded much on it lately but I am in the process of remedying that.  My camcorder died on me and I had to buy a new one...ugh!  But hopefully I'll be back to sharing video tutorials very soon. Anyway, back to this tote bag.  I used a Disney's Dumbo fat quarter bundle and it has the most adorable images on it.  My wee Mamma loves Dumbo, and the colour combination of yellow and grey together, so this will be going to her.  I will share a shopping list for as many of the products I used that I can remember where I bought them, lol. This bag has 2 zips....and might I add, these are my first ever zips I've put into anything.  And I actually ...

Altered Extendible Cutlery Tray - Made into a Storage Unit

Altered Extendible Cutlery Tray - Made into a Storage Unit BEFORE I GET STARTED:  You may have noticed that when you come over to my blog that the address may redirect to www.craftyloops.com.....that's because I bought the domain name.....Yippee.  However, nothing has changed.  If you put in my blogspot address, you will still find me.  It just redirects the name to my dot com address.  But I'm still a blogger girl.  Everything I do is still run by Blogger.  And in case you want to know where I was able to buy my dot com domain name from (for just £2 a year), I got it from godaddy .  I have not been sponsored to advertise for them....this is simply where my 13 year old brother told me to go and buy my domain name......and if he tells me where to go and buy it from, then I listen.  He's a child prodigy, lol. I haven't been crafting as I'm sure you are aware by my distinct lack of attendance in Blogland.  I have been doing out my craft...

Video Tutorial - How to make a Distress Ink Storage Tower

Video Tutorial - How to make a Distress Ink Storage Tower Handmade Distress Ink Tower Holds 20 Distress Inks or a combination of Distress Inks and Blending tool thingies! Now.....before you even see the video or before I even get to explain what this tutorial is all about, there will be a few things my sister will be doing straight away.....just from reading the title...... First......she'll be all giddy and excited when she realises I'm doing a tutorial with me talking.....which will lead to the second thing she'll do.... Secondly.....She'll quickly jump onto Facebook to one of our cousins facebook page....Jessica (Hi Jess) and she may even text her too.  She'll tell Jess to "Hurry up and get over to Lee's Blog......She's doing a real tutorial with her silly talking and everything!!!" "Why would these 2 things happen?", I hear you ask, scratching your little noggins.  My sister, Tara and our cousin Jess were sitting last s...

Empty tape roll to Ribbon Storage

Empty tape roll to Ribbon Storage You all know the tape I'm talking about.  Look.....this one.....done there in the photo.  I love the super sticky red tape (If that's its name....it is in my house!) and it really pained me to throw away the plastic ring it was stored on.  So I have been storing them up in a drawer.  And here is what I decided to use them for........ MY RIBBONS AND FIBRES.......YEAH!!!! See?  I'm so chuffed with this. Makes me feel good that Im doing my bit for up-cycling and my ribbons and fibres aren't stuck in a bag all scrunched up and they look scrummy........theyr'e certainly better looking than that ugly door of mine, heehee! If you don't have an over door hook "thingy" just stick a few tacks, nails or even some of the wee foam backs hooks onto your door and hang them from that. That's it for tonight folks.  I have a few things to add to my candy which I will show you soon. Toodles Noodles,....Lee aka...
