Duplicity handbag pattern from Sew Yours
SORRY FOR THE WONKY PHOTOS - I PROMISE THAT THIS BAG IS NOT LOPSIDED - JUST MY PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS, OR LACK THEREOF ARE A BIT WONKY - TEEHEE
Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable festive season. And a very Happy New Year to you all.  I hope 2024 is your best year yet.   This is a new bag I made for my wee Mamma for Christmas.  It is called The Duplicity Handbag from Sew Yours. Not only is the pattern fantastic and the instructions very detailed but Melissa has a fantastic video to accompany the pattern.  Which is vital for me as a visual learner.
I love the combination of the ivory faux leather with the gold hardware.  I wasn't sure it would work, but I love how it turned out.  The front of the bag has a turn lock with pocket for storage on the front.  I just love these wee heart Chicago screws.  They really look great on this bag as well as providing extra stability for the handles.
The back is much more plain but still has a really big slip pocket on the back that is closed with a magnetic clasp.
And the base of the bag also had to get it's pretty gold coloured hardware too.  These feet should help keep the faux leather base clean.
And here is the reason for it being called Duplicity.  It's a twin opening bag.  I realise that this view makes the bag look massive.  But it's actually a really lovely sized handbag.  Not too massive or cumbersome to carry at all.  And it has pockets galore so it will have plenty of storage options.
This is the back pocket on the bag
Here's the inside.  I used this gorgeous upholstery weight fabric with colourful butterflies on it.  I knew my wee Mamma would love that fabric.  The bag has it's 2 compartments, complete with slip pockets on both sides along with zipper pockets on each side too.
This bag, although not difficult to make, definitely gave me a few challenges particularly as I use a smallish, domestic sewing machine.  But even though it was a wee bit challenging at small parts, I still managed to get the bag done.  And I definitely feel like I am getting the hang of this bag making thing.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I already have another 2 bags cut out and ready to be sewn up.  We'll see how they turn out, lol.

I'm happy to report that my wee Mamma loved the bag. The poor woman is always my guinea pig for most of the new bags I make, lol.

And that's it from me for now folks...........Toodles Noodles .......Lee aka Crafty Loops x
