My own Handbag pattern - Handmade Sloth Handbag

My own Handbag pattern - Handmade Sloth Handbag
Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I am back to show you another bag I made using my own pattern.  I discussed how I came up with this design in my previous post, here.  I know that I have used this sloth fabric in a lot of bags, but I had a small piece left over and decided to use what I had left to make this bag.  I used this gorgeous faux leather (listed below in "Shopping List") and I think it turned out super cute.
As per usual, my "handmade" label refuses to photograph properly....I swear these labels are so camera shy, teehee.  I loved the combination of this fabric with this faux leather.  I used another one of my wee heart twist lock for the closure.
This time around, I added a few more Chicago screws on the back of the flap closure and I really like how it looks.  Not only are the Chicago screws there to help keep the flap attached but I think they look great.  They really set the bag off.
I used the magnet claps on both sides of the bag as the closure and this time, I did add piping around the bag.  I made it myself using thinner brown faux leather that I had with cord piping.  For my first attempt at piping, I was pretty chuffed with the outcome.  It isn't perfect but I really like it.  I think it definitely elevates the bag's look and make it look that little bit more professional and less homemade....if you catch my drift, lol.

I added 4 purse feet to the base for added protection for the bag.  This leather is so thick though that I doubt that it would ever wear away at the bottom, teehee.
Here is the inside of my bag, with the magnets closed.  For a wee pop of colour, I added a maroon zip to the inside zipper pocket although, it looks a bit more pink here than it does in real life.  And this time, I decided to add a wee key fob clasp so you can hook your house and car keys to it.  That way, you don't have to rummage around in your bag looking for them.
And here is the bag open completely with the magnets undone.
Another wee view of the inside of the bag, completely open.  This bag has so much room.  I love the key fob and zipper pocket
Here's a wee looksie at the inside of the zipper pocket.  As usual, I like to add lovely fabric for my pockets.  And my usual little "Handmade By" detailed stamp on the inside too.
I also added 2 slip pockets to the other side of the bag.  I added a wee Chicago screw to the top of the pocket just to help secure the pocket from wear and tear.
I love how the back looks.  This faux leather is fabulous.  It actually looks like a proper bag, teehee.

And that's it from me for now folks....Toodles Noodles .....aka Crafty Loops xx

SHOPPING LIST
At the time of typing, the items I linked to are available.  However, items stock changes all the time and with time marching by, some items I link may no longer be available from that particular seller.  However, a quick Google search should help you out if my links are no longer working/available.

Bag pattern - I made it!  So, there is no pattern to actually buy - sorry, lol.  But I was inspired by this Daisy Bag and the Serafina bag, which does have a pattern, here
Teflon non-stick foot, Amazon - for sewing machine.  Works great when working with faux leather.  This foot works perfectly with my Janome QXL605 sewing machine
Jeans Needle - Amazon
Personalised, handmade stamp - Stampingallday
5& 1/2 inch Kai Scissors - Christie's Craft Shop, Ebay
Faux Leather - used for piping - Direct Home, Ebay
Lining fabric - from my stash, private Ebayer.  It's a thick, wool feeling fabric with a small bit of stretch to it.  Apparently it's quite an old fabric.  I think it's made from natural fibres and isn't a synthetic or polyester blend.  I only had this small piece, so I wouldn't even know where to begin to find it again.  Sorry.
Bosal single sided fusible foam - carogojo, Ebay or check out my page & email Carol directly for orders
A3 Craft Foam - Amazon (used for extra stability in the bag's base to provide more rigidity and shape)
No. 3 zippers - from stash but purchased from private seller on Ebay
