Altered wooden Box....Birthday Box for ma wee Mamma and Crackle technique Tutorial

Altered wooden Box....Birthday Box for ma wee Mamma and Crackle technique Tutorial From this.... To this. This is a wee altered box I made for ma wee Mamma's birthday on the 13th there.  Now, I'm not completely happy with it.  Its ok, but it didn't quite turn out quite like I wanted.  I would have liked a better swirly bling which would start in the corner and go out to the middle but unfortunately I didn't have any so had to make do with what I had. This is a bit of show and tell.  I am going to do a tutorial on how to do the crackle technique below. I decorated the box with some lace that I fanned in the top corner and used one of my fluffy vintage handmade flowers as the centre piece flower and the just used some roses from Wild Orchid Crafts that came in a kit I bought.  SHOCK HORROR......there are flowers on a project that I didn't personally make!!  I had plenty of handmade flowers but not the right colour and as time was ticking on....I cheate

Flower Tutorial - Fabric YoYo flowers

Flower Tutorial - Fabric YoYo flowers Fabric YoYo flowers Tutorial As promised in my YoYo flowers on down the page a bit, I said if anyone wanted a tutorial on how to make these little fabric flowers that I would gladly do one for you.  So a few of you have asked for a tutorial, so here it is. These wee flowers are unbelievably easy to make and literally take minutes but they are so pretty and would be beautiful to embellish cards, tags, scrapbook pages, frames, altered projects..........the list is endless.  And of course depending on what centre you put in the flowers, they are very flat and light so they would not be an expensive embellishment to have on your cards.  And you need very little fabric too.  Obviously it depends on the size of flower you want to make.  But you can use any type of fabric, even have a wee rummage through your old clothes and that lonesome bag of clothes that was meant to go to the charity shop but now sits forgotten at the back of your wardrobe!!  O

Well, Ive finally made a card and here it is......

Well, I've finally made a card and here it is...... Well I have had nothing but stick because I don't really make cards(all in good humour and a bit of craic of course).  In fact I try to do EVERYTHING craft related except cards.  And if you are a follower of my blog, you know that I like to be challenged.  And if there is a tutorial or something that you would like for me to make or show, I am more than happy to oblige.  Well.......a certain little friend of mine decided to be cruel and unusual and challenged me to making a card, knowing rightly the very mention of me making a card breaks me out in a cold sweat!! But, I said I would do it and here it is.  Its ma wee mamma's birthday today, Happy 53rd Birthday Mammy (oh I'm sure she is delighted with me giving away her age), hope you have a lovely day.  So this is the card I made for her.  The layout and the nesties labels are actually from a very lovely friend of mine over on DoCrafts called Sandra, AKA Decocards, Sh

New flowers Ive made from lace and fabric....I think they are so pretty

New flowers I've made from lace and fabric As previously discussed, flowers are hitting the shelves like nobodies business at the moment, should it be in Art or Fashion, Home Decor or Hairstyles.  Flowers are definitely back.  As I said before, I saw a beautiful flower on the waistband of a dress recently and I instantly wanted to make it, lol.  Just look on YouTube, Blogs....any social platform and everyone is making fabric or paper flowers at the minute.  They are everywhere.  I'm getting inspiration from everywhere for flowers but I also need to thank my primary school teacher who also taught me how to make flowers, sew and craft.  Without her, I would never have had a needle and thread or played with fabric like I do now. Thanks to that gorgeous flower on the waistband of a dress, I've had a go at making some of my own.  If you fancy trying some, have a look on YouTube for some inspiration also.  I saw a tutorial from a lovely girl on YouTube making similar fabric flo

YoYo fabric flowers

Here are some fabric YoYo flowers I have made using different decorative buttons for the flower centres.  I used pink and white polka dot fabric and green and white polka dot fabric. These are great to use on cards as they are small enough and certainly flat enough to go onto cards.  But they are also beautiful made into little pins for your clothes, on frames and altered projects, scrapbook pages, you name it, these flowers will look great on anything.  They are very cute and can be made with different materials and colours.  And you can use whatever type of centre you like, I just love using decorative buttons. I can do a tutorial on these if anyone wants.  Just leave a comment below and let me know. SORRY THE PHOTOS ARE NOT PERFECT, THEY ARE A BIT BLURRY.  ITS NOT LIKE ME TO TAKE A BAD PHOTO....DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED.  COULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT I TOOK THEM AT 4AM IN THE MORNING!!!  YAWN! Thank you for your comments and should you have any questio
