Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  Just popping in with a very quick make today.  Summer in Northern Ireland started off with a scorching bang in the middle of June.  But sadly, as quickly and fierce as the hot sunny weather arrived with us, it quickly disappeared.  And we have had nothing but windy, rainy, gloomy days here ever since. July was the gloomiest and rainiest since records began.  Look at us breaking records for all the wrong reasons, lol.  The old "Norn Iron" tan is fading with the sun. teehee. I tell you though, this gloomy and extremely windy weather does nothing for your mood.  The poor trees around us have no idea what's going on and with the strong winds, are already shedding leaves like it's the Autumn.  But sure, what do I expect really, living in Northern Ireland?  Lol.....we can't do anything right. teehee.

This is a really fast and easy project to make up.  Plastic bags are essentially banned here and if you do happen to get one, you have to pay for them.  Which is great for the environment as it means we've gone back to the old days of needing reusable bags.  I rarely see a plastic bag wrapped around a tree or mangled in Country bushes now.  It's fantastic.

This wee bag is made using 2 fat quarters for the main body and then 1 more piece for the wee pocket at the front.  I made expandable side gussets so the bag can carry a tonne of items in it.  

The bag is super easy to fold up. You can keep this bag in your handbag or even in the glove compartment of your car.  And because it folds up so small, it doesn't take up much room at all.  So it's super convenient to carry around, even in your coat pocket.

It may be compact, but it holds a tonne of items and is so sturdy and strong with the French seams.

I probably should have given it a quick press before photographing, but hey ho.  The wee contrasting pocket was made using another Peter Rabbit fat Quarter.  These bags sew up super quickly.  I French seamed them to give them extra stability and that way, I felt that I didn't need to line the bag.  So they are very quick to sew and don't use a tonne of fabric.   No raw edges are exposed with French seams which means the bag should wear pretty well too.

The wee pocket on the front is perfect for sunglasses or your mobile phone.  If you make items to sell at fairs or online, these quick, reusable bags are a must make.  They sew up super quickly and are pretty low on supplies. And everyone needs a reusable bag nowadays. You could easily chain piece a tonne of these in an afternoon.  I think I am going to make more of these and pass them out to family and friends.  I think I'll maybe try adding wee poppers so, when you fold the bag up, you can use a wee popper to keep it closed.  

And that's it from me folks.  I do have another Peter Rabbit bag to share, that is pretty much a duplicate of this one.  Our wee Mamma was showing off this bag to my Aunt who almost started to cry when she saw it, lol.  She's so cute. So, ma wee Mamma asked if I'd make one the same for my Aunt for her birthday.  I didn't want to make it exactly identical, so I mixed it up slightly.  Although, she did want the main Peter Rabbit fabric being the main feature.  So, I will share the new one soon and show you the differences that I made to it.......even though it is pretty similar.
