Small Hand-bound Vintagy Shabby Chic Journal Shabby Chic Journal with removable charm Hi folks........ITS THE WEEKEND..WOOWHOOOOO! Now that I have gotten that sudden act of madness out of the way, I shall begin.  Haaahaaa, sorry, Im just laughing at myself saying "sudden act of madness".  I think its fair to say that "sudden" is not the correct term.  Lets face it, I think it would more much more accurate if I was to say "sudden act of sanity" in my case.  Its probably the more rare behaviour on my part. Handmade Travel Journal with removeable charm Well, here it is.  A new journal Ive made.  As I said before I bookbind so this journal has been made from scratch.  Ive sewn all the pages together, made the covers etc.  Rather than using cardstock to make the cover, I used canvas.  I bought it on a roll and its great stuff.  So I decorated the canvas cover with glimmer mists, distress inks and then stamped some images and used printed images that are from The Graphic Fairy .  Its a fab site filled with gorgeous vintage images. The ribbon is tinted with my own hand made glimmer mist and as always the flowers are all hand made by me.  I made the charm as a bookmark but can be unclipped and put onto your mobile phone, handbag, luggage etc.  I showed it in a previous post. Metal Tassels and a Book Embellishment/bookmark The one in the middle is the Travel Journal Bookmark The two either side are my first attempts at metal tassel making Im in the process of making another journal and the theme for it is a travel journal but vintage and girlie too.  I wanted to make a nice bookmark for it, but instead of adding the normal ribbon bookmark, I wanted something different.  Something that could be used as a page marker, a book embellishment or tassel but also something that could be removed and hooked onto a luggage bag or suitcase as an extra identity tag for your travel bag or hook it onto a room key or safety deposit box as a keyring, or hook it onto a belt, mobile phone, necklace or handbag just as a pretty little bit of blingy embellishment to add to your every day items.   I didn't want it to be just a bookmark alone , I wanted it to be a multi-tasking bit of jingle jangly loveliness!! Fiona Jennings has a Youtube channel under the name of Jennings644 .  I had previously made and sent her one of my handmade books.  And when she got it, she kindly asked me to make 3 books for her friends. These are the journals she requested.  She wanted 2 purple and 1 pink in a vintage style.  So hopefully Fiona and her friends will like them.  I did my best with the photos but unfortunately they don't do the books justice.  But see what you think.  Unfortunately the colours haven't come out perfectly either, the purples look more blueish in colour.....but they are purple, I promise Fiona!! These are all hand bound by me, signatures made, pages sewn, covers and spine made, books bound and decorated all by me!  Embellished with my handmade flowers except for the wee foam roses, I have yet to master those.....but give me time!!
