Grungy Journal - handmade Journal

Grungy Journal - handmade Journal Hi folks, how are we this very fine day?  Any word of Spring making an appearance around your neck of the woods??  It was 10 degrees at the hottest point of the day in grey Northern Ireland so that's practically summer around here!! Anywhoodles, I just wanted to show you this Journal I made for my very good friend Fiona (YouTube Jennings 644 ).  This Journal was actually the first one I ever made.  From scratch I mean.........sewing the papers, making the covers, putting the book together.....proper making a book from scratch.  And I just love how rough and ready it turned out.  It wont be to everyone's liking I'm sure,  but I really love it and Fiona was so chuffed when she received it too. Im not going to waffle too much and just get on with the photos!  WHAT?  I hear you cry!!  And no, I do not have a temperature and Im not sick!  In fact when I have a temperature and am sick......I tend to waffle more!  Or is that moan more??

Small Hand-bound Shabby Chic Vintage Journal

Small Hand-bound Shabby Chic Vintage Journal I probably should have put a bird on the cage....but it flew away!  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! I am showing you a small Journal I made last summer but never got around to posting on my blog.  I was going mad (or more mad than usual!) not having anything to show.......previous post gives the reason for my distinct lack of crafting.  So, I was churning through my photos and came across this little journal I made. I think when I started my blog I decided to show only projects from my first blog day onwards and not really considered previous projects which is silly really.  Ok, my pre-blog projects wont be quite as good as my projects now as I only really started crafting in April of last year.  And as I haven't been proper crafting for even a year yet, technically I'm still a beginner......so go easy on me, lol. Anywhoodles, I think I did enough waffling in my last post that it can carry over for this one so wi

Small Hand-bound Vintagy Shabby Chic Journal

Small Hand-bound Vintagy Shabby Chic Journal Shabby Chic Journal with removable charm Hi folks........ITS THE WEEKEND..WOOWHOOOOO! Now that I have gotten that sudden act of madness out of the way, I shall begin.  Haaahaaa, sorry, Im just laughing at myself saying "sudden act of madness".  I think its fair to say that "sudden" is not the correct term.  Lets face it, I think it would more much more accurate if I was to say "sudden act of sanity" in my case.  Its probably the more rare behaviour on my part. Anywhoodles, before I start into how sane or in fact insane I am I would like to share with you this little journal I made.  Its quite a small wee thing, I think the pages are about A6 in size so its a dinky dainty wee journal.  As some of you may know, and indeed some may not I am self-taught in Bookbinding.  Therefore, this pretty little journal is all made by me from scratch.  I made the signatures, sewed them together, made the covers, boun

Handmade Travel Journal with removeable charm

Handmade Travel Journal with removeable charm Well, here it is.  A new journal Ive made.  As I said before I bookbind so this journal has been made from scratch.  Ive sewn all the pages together, made the covers etc.  Rather than using cardstock to make the cover, I used canvas.  I bought it on a roll and its great stuff.  So I decorated the canvas cover with glimmer mists, distress inks and then stamped some images and used printed images that are from The Graphic Fairy .  Its a fab site filled with gorgeous vintage images. The ribbon is tinted with my own hand made glimmer mist and as always the flowers are all hand made by me.  I made the charm as a bookmark but can be unclipped and put onto your mobile phone, handbag, luggage etc.  I showed it in a previous post. So here are the photos folks.  Any comments are greatly appreciated as always. My handmade flowers Beautiful Butterfly Name done on travel tags Book charm Book charm

My very first mini album...well....not so mini 25th Wedding Anniversay Pressie

My very first mini album...well....not so mini 25th Wedding Anniversay Pressie From these..... To this.. This is my very first album so please be gentle!!  It is my Uncle and Aunts 25th wedding anniversary today and all those years ago I was their 6 year old flower girl and having seen the photos last night, I havent changed a bit!!  They had a big party last night to celebrate in their massive barn at their beautiful house in Wicklow.  They didn't want gifts but there was no way I could turn up empty handed.  They love taking photos so I thought I could making a journalling photo album so they could have a memory album of their anniversary.   I wanted to keep this quite plain and not too bulky an album as I wanted it to be a "working" album as such.  I think sometimes its very easy to get carried away and add too much embellishments to an album which makes it difficult to then use even though they are beautiful pieces of artwork.  But as it was my Uncle
