Some Fabric flowers Ive been making

Some Fabric flowers Ive been making I have just recently being playing around with lace and decided to make some flowers with some of the different laces in my stash and this is what I've come up with so far.  A very lovely friend from DoCrafts, Maddy AKA IzzWizz sent me some beautiful vintage buttons and since then I've been trailing ebay to add to the ones Mandy sent me.  Maddy is an amazing crafter and her style is right up my street.  If you would like to see her gallery, click here . If you would like a tutorial on any of them, please don't be afraid to ask, it would be my pleasure.  Flowers seem to be everywhere at the minute and are having a bit of a resurgence.  I'm seeing them on clothes, hair bands and even on canvasses.  I saw a gorgeous big fluffy flower the other day on the waistband of a dress in a Shop in Belfast and stood for ages looking at it to see how it was made.  I'll be playing around with more fabric me thinks and I'm going to attempt t

Flower Tutorial - tattered carnation flower

Flower Tutorial - tattered carnation flower A lot of DoCrafters have asked me how to make this particular flower that was in my gallery.  And ever the obliging person that I am, here it is.  To make this flower is actually very similar to making the shabby rose from one of my previous tutorials.  If you would like to see it, please click here . Right lets get down to business and make this very easy but pretty flower. Flower using a cheap bought flower for the centre WHAT YOU NEED 4 x the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals flowers - the 2nd smallest flower OR any type of 5 or 6 petalled flower you have.  This is a very versatile flower and any flower die or punch you have is fine.  It will just make it slightly different looking but you will still get the same affect with this technique, A small rose flower either one you've made yourself or you can buy small cheap flowers in a pack for £1 at the works, Scissors, Glue.....hot glue, pva glue, silicone glue etc  Whic

Tutorial - how to make a box for your dimensional cards.

Tutorial - how to make a box for your dimensional cards WHAT YOU WILL NEED This tutorial will give the measurements and formula for making a box for a 6x6inch square card.  HOWEVER....the formula I use to make this card is easily converted into other sized cards like 5x5, 8x8 etc. For a 6x6 card you will need: 2 x A4 sheets of cardstock, white or patterned whichever you want for your box. Hougie board, Scor Board, Martha Stewart Score board or whatever other score board you have that is on the market*  Not essential though.....if you have an embossing tool & ruler, that works too Glue or extra strong double sided tape Bone folder - not essential Scissors Ruler MAKING YOUR BOX - THE FORMULA I USE AND THE PUTTING TOGETHER OF YOUR BOX BOX BASE If your card is 6x6 inches you wont want your box to be exactly 6x6 as the card wont fit in, it will simply sit on top and this is NOT what we want.   So, I usually add on 1/4 inch which gives room for the card and embellishments.  Therefore

3 Journals Ive made for the wonderful Fiona Jennings

Fiona Jennings has a Youtube channel under the name of Jennings644 .  I had previously made and sent her one of my handmade books.  And when she got it, she kindly asked me to make 3 books for her friends. These are the journals she requested.  She wanted 2 purple and 1 pink in a vintage style.  So hopefully Fiona and her friends will like them.  I did my best with the photos but unfortunately they don't do the books justice.  But see what you think.  Unfortunately the colours haven't come out perfectly either, the purples look more blueish in colour.....but they are purple, I promise Fiona!! These are all hand bound by me, signatures made, pages sewn, covers and spine made, books bound and decorated all by me!  Embellished with my handmade flowers except for the wee foam roses, I have yet to master those.....but give me time!! All 3 together Inside front covers, envelopes for keepsakes Inside front cover of the pink journal Letters painted lilac c
