Handmade Handbag - Duplicity Handbag pattern from Sew Yours

Handmade Handbag - Duplicity Handbag pattern from Sew Yours Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  Back with another Duplicity Handbag from the pattern from Sew Yours .  This time I made it in this lovely black faux leather with gold hardware.   I love how this bag turned out.  As I mentioned in my previous   Duplicity make  this bag is really easy to make, but there is a bit more difficulty when it comes to adding the bag base and then doing the top stitching when doing the drop in lining.  Now, I have a Janome Domestic machine, so I would maybe find it easier to do if I had a more industrial style machine, or even the Janome HD9.  I do manage it, but they are the only 2 frustrating parts of making this bag that I think gives it away as being handmade; as my stitching is not perfect because it's a bit awkward to do. I think if I had a better machine, it would be pretty perfect. But even with that, I am very pleased with how it turned out. I love the gold hardware on this bag an

Final Handmade Large Bunny Rabbit from In the Hoop Online

Final Handmade Large Bunny Rabbit from In the Hoop Online Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  And as promised, I am back with the final little cutie patootie Bunny that I made following a pattern from Adele at  In the Hoop Online .  My blog has been nothing but bunnies and bags lately, teehee.  Anyway, I won't keep you as you've seen 3 of these bunnies already.  Bunny  #1  and #2&3 . I did the same faux leather pads on the bunny feet but did the top stitching in white thread so it would pop a wee bit more.  Now, I am very aware that my sewing skills are by no means professional at all, so my top stitching isn't the greatest.  But it certainly confirms the handmade aspect of these bunnies, that's for sure, teehee.  I did add the buttons again to both the arms and legs for added security which I really like.  I did it differently this time though, which I feel worked better.  Instead of waiting until the whole bunny is completely made up to add the buttons, I adde

Handmade Large Bunny Rabbits from In the Hoop Online

Handmade Large Bunny Rabbits from In the Hoop Online Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I shared another bunny last time from a pattern I bought.... this  Bunny pattern  from  In the Hoop Online .  This is such a lovely pattern from Adele and it comes together so easily too.  Adele also has a fantastic step by step  video tutorial  on her  YouTube channel .  I said that I had another 3 bunnies to make and these are 2 that I made for my 2 nephews.  I do have 1 more bunny to finish but I ran out of stuffing.  So, I'm waiting for that to come in and I will share that wee bunny then. I adore their big bunny feet.  They are so cute.  I hope this wee dude doesn't look too sinister with his big red face, lol. .....I'm hoping his big blue eyes makes him a little less terrifying, although I'm not sure they'll work....I probably should have picked a different fabric for this wee guys face but he's made now, teehee.  Hopefully he doesn't make my nephew cry...eek!

Handmade Large Bunny Rabbit from In the Hoop Online

Handmade Large Bunny Rabbit from In the Hoop Online Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  And look.....she can make more than just handbags and wallets, teehee.  Isn't this big bunny the cutest thing ever.  I bought this Bunny pattern from In the Hoop Online .  This is such a lovely pattern from Adele and it comes together so easily too.  Adele also has a fantastic step by step video tutorial on her YouTube channel .  So you can sew along with your pattern or follow along with the video, which is definitely my preferred method.  I noticed that Adele has loads of other toy patterns too.....so me thinks I may be having a little shopping spree happening soon, lol. I'm sure you've noticed from past toy projects, that I tend to make my toys in batches of three, for my nephew and 2 nieces.  Well, a new wee nephew arrived in October, so my toys will now be made in batches of 4.  I made this first bunny as my tester as I wanted to see just how much stuffing this bunny would ta

Duplicity handbag pattern from Sew Yours SORRY FOR THE WONKY PHOTOS - I PROMISE THAT THIS BAG IS NOT LOPSIDED - JUST MY PHOTOGRAPHY SKILLS, OR LACK THEREOF ARE A BIT WONKY - TEEHEE Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable festive season. And a very Happy New Year to you all.  I hope 2024 is your best year yet.   This is a new bag I made for my wee Mamma for Christmas.  It is called The Duplicity Handbag from Sew Yours . Not only is the pattern fantastic and the instructions very detailed but Melissa has a fantastic video to accompany the pattern.  Which is vital for me as a visual learner.   I love the combination of the ivory faux leather with the gold hardware.  I wasn't sure it would work, but I love how it turned out.  The front of the bag has a turn lock with pocket for storage on the front.  I just love these wee heart Chicago screws.  They really look great on this bag as well as providing extra stability for the handles. The back is

2nd Mia Everyday wallet from Bagstock Designs

2nd Mia Everyday wallet from Bagstock Designs Whatabout ye folks, it's Lee here.  Do not adjust your sets.....this is in fact another Mia Everyday wallet , but slightly different and without the mistakes of the first one  that I made, teehee.  I know I use this Burberry style fabric a lot but I think it is so classy and can go with anything.   This one was definitely made better than the first one.  This time, I decided to give the wallet a bit more protection, as it is just fabric.  So I coated the burberry style fabric with Odicoat which is a water resistant gel that you coat over the fabric.  You brush on 1 layer and spread it with an old store card to evenly distribute the product all over the fabric.  You then let it dry completely before adding another even layer.  It gives the fabric a protective coating which I think is perfect when you want to make a wallet out of fabrics like cotton or viscose.  A big warning though, this stuff STINKS to the high heavens when you are usi
