Alice in Wonderland Mini Album

Alice in Wonderland Mini Album
A very Happy UnBirthday to youuuuuuu
Helloooooo my lovelies.  Please be gentle on me with this one as this is my very first proper mini album.  And I LOVE it but thats just me, lol.  I was surfing the web and having a nosey around Youtube trying to find some ideas for a pressie I could make for my bestie, Maddy (izzy-izzwizz.blogspot.co.uk) as I wanted to make something really special for her birthday.  I am a subbie of Marion Smith on Youtube and remembered she made her own printables.  Click HERE for her Youtube channel.  As it was my first one, I felt a little intimidated by it so I kept pretty much similar to her design but with a few Loops's twists added in for good measure.  If you have never visited Marion's website or had a play with any of her designs, (link no longer availble) to go straight to her website.  The printables are delicious and I have bought another few to have a go at those too.

As soon as I saw the Wonderland printable, I just knew it was the perfect gift for Maddy and bought it there and then.  The printables are so gorgeous and I loved the idea of it being an envelope mini.  So here it is......Happy Birthday to Maddy too.

Isn't it scrumptious?  If I do say so myself.  Now...just a note, the wee closure part comes with the original Wonderland Printable, but the front and back cover is an extra add on you can purchase.  So I bought the add on and mixed and matched my cover between the kit and add on's.  The closure is a simple ring and Tim Holtz swivel clasp.  I added the wee nuts and bolts brads from Papermania.  They were bought from the lovely Dawn over at AuroraDawn on Ebay.  She's an amazing seller. (link no longer availble)
"Painting the roses red, we're painting the roses red.  We dare not stop, or waste a drop.  So let the paint spread.  We're painting the roses red, we're painting the roses red"
I made it look like some of the roses and flowers were being painted red.  The majority of the flowers and leaves are Wild Orchid Crafts.

I made it look like some of the roses and flowers were being painted red.  The majority of the flowers along with the leaves are Wild Orchid Crafts Roses.
I used this beautiful Rosette Trim that I bought from SaCrafters on Zibbet.  Link for this store is no longer available.  I coloured the string with Tea Dye Distress Stain.  Over the holes of the binding, I added a blingie ribbon slider, you can just about see it.  I only made a simple knot in both bindings, as I want Maddy to be able to loosen and retie the binding threads as her book gets bulkier with adding photos, journalling and bits and bobs.
I love this charm.  I tried to keep the charms relevant to the Alice in Wonderland story.  So the key is for the first door Alice went through.  The fob watch is the Rabbits watch, and there he is on the charm too.  The chair is the Queen's thrown.  The golf charm is meant to represent the Pink Flamingo Croquet match Alice played with the Queen....but alas, pink flamingo croquet charms are impossible to find, lol.  The heart keyhole is the wee talking keyhole in the door Alice went through.  The crown charm and heart shaped crown emblem represents the Queen of Hearts and finally the wee locket is meant to be the Rabbits Fob Watch.  Maddy can add photos inside the wee locket.
And of course I had to add a "Drink Me" bottle too.  This wee label is in Marion's printable kit, but I had to trim it down as the wee bottle was so titchy.
Here is the inside cover and first page. I put a wee note in the first tag slot for Maddy.
I added one of the print outs to this page and made it into a pocket for the wee card tags.
The pages are all envelopes and I added these gorgeous journalling cards into each envelope.  I stupidly forgot to take photos of the actual journal cards but you can just see them peeking over the top of the envelope.  So Maddy can Journal and there is space on the back of each one for more journalling or photos.
This is the envelope closed.  I didn't want to plaster each envelope as I wanted there to be enough room for Maddy to add photos or journalling or whatever she wants.
I love this wee tag.  The tags were made to look like a deck of cards.
I kept these plain for photos or wee bits and bobs Maddy want to stick onto these pages.
The wee pocket and tag on the left page is an add on you can buy as an extra item.
I LOVE this page and the song they sang too.  "A very merry unbirthday to youuuu".

This is when Alice met the Cheshire cat.  What a great image.  I added a wee pocket and more tags.

This page is just ready for a photo of Maddy and her Hubby.  I couldn't dream of covering it up with embellishments.  Its perfect for a photo.
I made one of the wee card tags into a pocket.
Yummy! Every time I see this page, I want to eat, lol.  This is a great page to journal about a nice meal out.  You can even keep the receipt inside the wee envelope pocket in the back.

I used one of the wee tea tags and used it as a closure for this envelope
I added a pocket and tag to this page.
Again, I just added the wee tea ticket thingie as a closure
And here is the inside of the back page.  The harlequin background is the original cover in the Wonderland printable kit.  The picture was one of the images in the kit which I glued to the back page and left one half open so tags and bits and bobs could be held in it.
Well, I am pleased to report that I have heard from Maddy and she LOVES the mini album.  Yippeeeeee!  I'm so relieved, lol.  The next time I make one I will probably be a bit more confident and adventurous.  But for a first go,  I'm pretty darn happy with it.

  13. I absolutely love your album. I've been planning on a AinW album for quite some time. I've purchased some really great fairy tale charms at Hobby Lobby. I can't wait to do it. I'll be doing it soon. I have been planning on using the MSD paper for this too. I'm glad I got to see a well put together album with it. Thanks so much for your share.
